Thunderon®

Fiber Technology for the Spirit of the Future

Experiment with gloves that use conductive fibers
A Van de Graff generator was used (Approximately 10,000 volts)

Metal plated fiber

Carbon impregnated fiber

Thunderon® Filament
Thunderon®fiber has superior properties for corona discharge, conductivity (leakage), and electrostatic resistance.

Discharge Effect As the conductive cross section area is small (100 nm) it is very effective for the elimination of both large and small electrostatic capacitance. Spark discharge 30% of the silver bonds with the fiber surface and gives a spark discharge. As the conductive cross section area is large it is not very effective in eliminating small electrostatic capacitances. As the conductive cross section area is large it is not very effective in eliminating small electrostatic capacitances.
